History

The Kamloops Residential School operated from 1890 - 1978 and was run by the Roman Catholic Church until 1969, when it was taken over by the federal government to be used as a residence for students attending local day schools. The school building still stands today and is located on Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation.
