Ermineskin Indian Residential School was located approximately 2 miles west of Hobbema  The residential school operated from 1895 - 1975, officially closing on September 1, 1975. The school was run by multiple Roman Catholic entities, including: the Sisters of Assumption, the Oblate Fathers, and the Oblate Indian-Eskimo Commission.
