From the General Synod archives:

"Two canoe loads of 18 children are brought from Rupert's House (on James Bay) down to Moose Factory to go to school. The children had been picked by the missionary and the whole village helped to cloth [sic] them- the missionary even sending a pair of his own boots for one of the older boys. Here are 18 children being welcomed by the principal."
